A review of this week's A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms — with spoilers — coming up just as soon as I think myself an apple...

The first three Knight episodes were deliberately small and relatively light. Meet Dunk. Meet Egg. Meet Lyonel and the others. Banter. Embarrassment. Hope. Here are two outcasts of Westeros: a hedge knight whose master no one remembers, and an orphan boy. Nothing fancy.
The previous episode, though, ended with the revelation that Egg is a Targaryen prince cosplaying as a poor orphan. That drastically ups the stakes for "Seven," which is the most serious and heroic episode of the series to date. The time for goofing around and playing tug of war is over. It's life and death for Dunk, and he knows it.
And it's fantastic.
