Several things can be true at once regarding the new season:

  1. There remains enough electricity flowing between Kristen Bell and Adam Brody to power a mid-sized Rust Belt City.
  2. New showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan have fixed a number of problems the show had last season, particularly with regards to the writing of the female Jewish characters, and more broadly for the whole supporting cast.
  3. It nonetheless feels like the main story is running in place, making this a more disappointing experience than the first season.
