Earlier Pluribus episodes largely told the story from Carol's point of view, but the first two of those featured prologues that didn't involve her. "We Is Us" began with the discovery of the alien signal and then the early spread of the Joining, while "Pirate Lady" opened with Zosia's journey from Morocco to Albuquerque. With "Please, Carol," we start off once again in unfamiliar territory: Paraguay, to be precise, where we get to know Manousos, the Old-Schooler who kept hanging up on Carol when she tried calling him in "Grenade."
