The Chair Company recap, Episode 7: 'I said to my dog, "How do you like my hippie shirt?"'
Ron gets some answers, but at the expense of the comedy this week
A review of this week's The Chair Company, "I said to my dog, 'How do you like my hippie shirt?'" — with spoilers — coming up just as soon as I have a plastic bag of pepper patty balls in my pocket, just in case I don't like the dinner...

Late last week, HBO announced a second season renewal for The Chair Company. On the one hand, this season has been so delightful overall that I'm happy to know that Robinson, Kanin, and company will continue throwing weird people and ideas at us. On the other, second seasons of serialized comic mystery shows like this often struggle to maintain the careful balance of elements that made their first years work. (See The Afterparty, Only Murders in the Building, and The Flight Attendant, among others.) And this episode not only seemingly takes us to the solution of the Tecca conspiracy, but does it in a more conventional — and, not coincidentally, less funny — manner than any of the previous installments.
