As many of you know, I spent a few weeks in the hospital last month. Hospital days are long and tedious, even when you feel relatively okay. Distractions are always welcome, but they usually can't be demanding distractions. Comfort viewing is the way to go in times of deep discomfort. There was a day when I didn't have the mental energy to do anything but watch sequences from Top Gun: Maverick out of order again and again, for instance.
And then there was a day I binged Season Two of Stick.
You might remember Stick, a feel-good sports comedy, which Apple unapologeticaly sold as, "From the home of Ted Lasso," in which Owen Wilson plays a disgraced former golf star(*) looking for a shot at redemption by coaching a teenage phenom to glory?
(*) Not to be confused by the one played by Will Ferrell in Netflix's unbearable The Hawk.
