A review of this week's Ted Lasso, "Curiouser and Curiouser" — with spoilers — coming up just as soon as I buy an understudy rat...

Curiouser and Curiouser" opens with Ted in his new Richmond apartment, which I took at first for his old Richmond apartment, until his conversation with May revealed that he's now living above her pub. Given how close this flat is to the one he lived in during his previous coaching stint, it feels like a distinction without a difference. Though it does set up the cold open gag where Ted spots construction work being done in the neighborhood and notes that some things don't stay the same, followed by the old grump again calling him a wanker, making Ted realize that other things do stay the same.
With the premiere's long tourism ad for Kansas City over with, we're back across the pond for what feels like the proper start of Season Four, as Sudeikis, Jack Burditt, and company try to establish what's the same and what's different about this new incarnation of the series.
