Welcome back to the TV Is Good podcast! This week's episode offers a change of pace from our first two, while still sticking to the format as best we can.
As Kathryn warned you in our teaser and first episode — and as she warned me when we plotted out this podcast — she will, from time to time, try to educate me on the kinds of TV that she loves that I am largely ignorant of(*). So we kick off this week's episode with a discussion of Love Island USA.
(*) To return the favor, I open the episode by telling Kathryn the story of the 2025-26 New York Knicks to date. Plus, expect some Dad TV proselytizing from me to her down the line.
We will eventually do episodes where the two segments aren't thematically linked. But this time out, I figured if we're going to talk about Love Island, we should also discuss love on an island, which leads to a conversation about perhaps the most beloved Lost episode of them all, Season Four's time-spanning romance "The Constant."
Meanwhile...

...today we released our first Patreon episode, an hour-long discussion of perhaps the most beloved Mad Men episode of them all, Season Four's Don and Peggy duet "The Suitcase." You can subscribe at Patreon.com/TVIsGoodPod.

Next week's show will offer an undead double-feature: I've finally caught up on the first two seasons of Interview with the Vampire just in time to discuss the retitled third season, now known as The Vampire Lestat; and then we'll revisit the classic Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Two two-parter "Surprise" and "Innocence." If you want to rewatch it beforehand, Buffy is streaming on Hulu.
Before then, tomorrow will give Patreon subscribers a small bonus-bonus episode, where we get into spoilers about the Hacks finale.
The podcast also has its own social media accounts on Instagram, BlueSky, Threads, and TikTok.
To quote the hosts of every show you listen to say, please remember to subscribe, rate/like, and review, because the algorithm uses that data to decide what shows to promote to people who don't already know about them. Please help us beat the algorithm at its own game. You can also write to the two of us specifically at tvisgoodpod@gmail.com.
