It's Monday, which means it's time for another episode of the TV Is Good podcast, where Kathryn VanArendonk and I look at notable television shows from the present and the past. In this week's episode, we go to the dogs, twice. First, we discuss the third and final season of the super-charming Australian rom-com Colin from Accounts — about a couple who meet when they combine to accidentally injure a dog (the dog is okay in the end! we swear!) — before it debuts on Paramount+. Then we rewind to the Nineties to talk about classic PBS kids education series Wishbone, where a talking Jack Russell terrier stars in adaptations of classic literature.

Because it's the first Monday of the month, we've also released our latest Patreon episode. Since it's Labor Day, we wanted an episode set in a workplace, and our Patreon subscribers picked a great one: "Sin Say Shun Awards After Party," the fifth episode of Season One from Party Down, where the cater waiters have to work an adult film industry event. Here's a preview:
The full episode is live now. Later today, we'll be posting a poll where Patreon subscribers can choose from four different spooky TV episodes as the subject of our October episode. You can find that after 2 p.m. Eastern at Patreon.com/tvisgoodpod.
Next week, we'll be getting into the spy game, with thoughts on the sixth season of Slow Horses, followed by a look back at the pilot episode of Alias, the show that made Jennifer Garner a star and put J.J. Abrams on the path to becoming a huge movie director. You can stream that on Disney+.
The podcast also has its own social media accounts on Instagram, BlueSky, Threads, and TikTok.
To quote the hosts of every show you listen to, please remember to subscribe, rate/like, and review, because the algorithm uses that data to decide what shows to promote to people who don't already know about them. Please help us beat the algorithm at its own game. You can also write to the two of us specifically at tvisgoodpod@gmail.com.
