TV Is Good podcast, episode 23: How do we get everyone to watch 'The Lowdown'?

Plus, a look back at 'Gilmore Girls,' with guest co-host Roxana Hadadi

TV Is Good podcast, episode 23: How do we get everyone to watch 'The Lowdown'?

It's Monday, which means it's time for another episode of the TV Is Good podcast, where Kathryn VanArendonk and I usually look at notable television shows from the present and the past. For the second — and, I hope, final — week in a row, I had to sit things out, so Kathryn got her Vulture colleague Roxana Hadadi to play co-host.

The two started out by talking about the new season of The Lowdown, which as you know I find incredibly delightful. From there, they looked back at another show set in an insular community, whose protagonist is both incredibly charming and kind of terrible: Gilmore Girls.

The plan for the next episode is to talk about the new season of The Diplomat, with plenty of spoilers, followed by a West Wing retrospective that will mostly focus on the Season One finale, "What Kind of Day Has It Been," and the two-part Season Two premiere, "In the Shadow of Two Gunmen." Assuming I'm really back, we'll also finally do that Twilight Zone / "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street" segment I've been promising since before I had to go on the shelf.

We also have a winner for our November Patreon episode: "Dr. Chaudhary," the ninth episode of the great HBO Max miniseries Station Eleven. You can find more details about the Patreon at Patreon.com/TVIsGoodPod.

The podcast also has its own social media accounts on Instagram, BlueSky, Threads, and TikTok.

To quote the hosts of every show you listen to, please remember to subscribe, rate/like, and review, because the algorithm uses that data to decide what shows to promote to people who don't already know about them. Please help us beat the algorithm at its own game. You can also write to the two of us specifically at tvisgoodpod@gmail.com.
