A review of this week's Slow Horses, "Resurrection" — with spoilers — coming up just as soon as I call the bullet "Poirot"...

"Resurrection" brings us to the season's midpoint. Though the show is combining the plot of two books, and bringing back or otherwise mentioning tons of significant characters from past seasons(*), this episode is relatively straightforward, with three basic plot threads: 1)River and Sid try to elude Jim and Jane (who are revealed to be Russian), 2)Shirley and Catherine link up with Louisa and Moira (getting to the latter before Jim and Jane's gas leak plan can kill her), and 3)Lamb and Roddy find Andy Nesmith's son Reece. There's also some business about Taverner unraveling in the aftermath of her disastrous TV interview — and banishing Flyte to Slough House in a fit of pique. And Sid and River begin to figure out some of what's motivating Jim, Jane, and/or Harkness — specifically, that Sid's name was used as part of the "retaliation" Diana mistakenly discussed in the interview. Mostly, though, we're just watching the Slow Horses in action — which also means we're watching them insult and annoy one another. Ideal viewing, in other words.
(*) Even Marcus comes up when Louisa goes to buy a gun with the cash she has on hand.
