It's Monday, which means it's time for another episode of the TV Is Good podcast, where Kathryn VanArendonk and I look at notable television shows from the present and the past. This week, we changed things up a bit. Because there's so much interesting TV this fall, and because we usually only do one new show a week, we decided to go macro instead of micro, and talk briefly about a bunch of different shows that we've either already seen or are excited to see.

Then, because we had fall TV on the brain, we brought on Lynette Rice to talk about her new book, ER: The Oral History, and the story of how the Nineties hospital drama became one of the biggest fall premieres of them all.
Next week, we'll be doing two miniseries adaptations of acclaimed novels that punctured American myths: Netflix's new take on John Steinbeck's East of Eden with Florence Pugh, and the 1989 version of Larry McMurtry's Western epic Lonesome Dove with Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones.
